Via Rail Train From Toronto to Montreal and back.
RBC wanted to celebrate the winners of their
#Make150Count contest in a very Canadian way, tying in Canada celebrating 150 years of Confederation. RBC had decided to take the select group of contest winners from Toronto to Montreal to see the world juniors play on Via rail. The railway itself being the symbolic spine that helped unite our nation’s vast geography, we can’t imagine a better event space for this event.
Since Quest AV is the official audio visual supplier for Via rail, we have a good deal of familiarity in using the rail cars as a unique event space. We then met with the folks from RBC to get a feel for what they were trying to achieve with this event. This was to be a fun event to reward youth for taking advantage of RBCs national initiative providing them with a gift of $150 to do good in their community..We took over the prestigious Via Rail Glen Fraser car to Montreal, we set-up monitors around the car linked with Microsoft Xbox Ones playing NHL ’17 to get everyone in the spirit of our national game.
Though the return trip was a little less lavish in Via Rail’s Business Car, we installed our custom-made brackets to suspend 22″ video monitors and speakers to play movies to ensure the guests had an entertaining and comfortable trip home from the big semi-final win over team Sweden.
Though team Canada would eventually fall to team USA in the finals, RBC showed that it is a great experience and can be a lot of fun for everyone when youth get involved in doing good deeds in their communities.
